Home - Synbasesteel - Top 20 Welded Steel Pipe Manufacturers by Application

Last updated: October 2026
The best welded steel pipe manufacturers for a shortlist include Synbase Steel for coated export packages, Welspun for multi-process line pipe, EUROPIPE for large longitudinal pipe, Northwest Pipe for water transmission, EEW for heavy fabrication and Zekelman for construction supply. Choose the mill whose welding process and product range match your order.
Quick picks
Disclosure: This guide is published by Synbase Steel. We list ourselves first because this is our website, not because we claim to be the market leader. The other 19 manufacturers are grouped by what they’re best for, in no particular order within each group.

We included manufacturers of welded-pipe products, with identified production, published product lines, and a fit with line pipe, water transmission or construction. Company information was checked against official websites and public sources in October 2026. Trading-only companies, sourcing platforms, directories, and pipe-making equipment suppliers were excluded. The selection covers different manufacturing locations and end-market segments.
We compared a wider candidate pool before selecting these 20 companies. Parent groups and operating brands are consolidated where appropriate: AMERICAN’s steel businesses form one entry, and Zekelman’s brands form another. East Pipes remains a separate manufacturing company, with its Welspun relationship disclosed. Founding dates distinguish company formation from older business heritage where the histories differ.

Use the process column first, then narrow by application or producing region. In the steel pipe industry, a large SAW mill, an ERW mill and a structural fabrication shop can all produce welded steel pipe, but answer different buying needs.
The Process-to-Mill Finder relates a requested seam route to a producer and use case. For an order specifying ERW, consider entries naming ERW or HFW; for large spiral pipe, consider HSAW or SSAW. Product standards, outside diameter, and wall thickness narrow the search to a particular plant.

These manufacturers offer more than one welded-pipe route, or include welded products in a broader pipe portfolio. A group-level catalog is useful for an initial shortlist, and the producing plant determines the available process and dimensions. The profiles explain the distinctions that affect the buying choice.
Synbase Steel combines welded pipe, protective coatings and connection components for export projects. We supply ERW, LSAW and SSAW products, so a mixed package can include different manufacturing routes without treating every pipe as the same item. Our company profile describes JCOE forming and several coating systems; the practical advantage is coordinating the pipe with its external protection and fittings. Overseas buyers should budget for the shipment from China and destination handling when comparing this package with locally stocked material.

Welspun Corp is a useful starting point for pipeline projects that may use both straight-seam and spiral products. According to its website, the portfolio includes high-frequency and submerged-arc processes, with coating, bends and double-jointing available alongside pipe production. Its named Mountain Valley Pipeline supply illustrates the LSAW side of that business. The offer spans multiple industries. The group-wide offer is broad, but its different plants have different equipment; a maximum size advertised for one route shouldn’t be applied to the others.

Borusan Pipe gives buyers distinct US manufacturing options within one group. Its facilities page identifies ERW production at Baytown, LSAW at Panama City and HSAW at Mobile, alongside Turkish production at Gemlik. The acquisition of the Panama City and Mobile operations in 2023 expanded that process mix. This makes the company relevant to buyers comparing domestic and imported line pipe, although the selected process can change the producing location and the freight route.

JFE Steel is an integrated producer with a pipe portfolio that includes UOE, spiral and high-frequency welding. Its published mill breakdown is particularly useful when an industrial buyer needs to distinguish a manufacturing route from a broad group sales offer. Continuous butt-welded products also appear in the product family, so the initial category “welded” covers several different processes. Manufacturing companies and trading affiliates have separate roles in this network; the purchase order should name the pipe mill rather than just the group.
Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan
Official website: www.jfe-steel.co.jp/en
Founded: 2003
Company type: Integrated steel manufacturer
Main products: UOE, spiral, high-frequency and continuous butt-welded pipe

Nippon Steel offers electric-resistance-welded and arc-welded products within a much wider steelmaking business. Its pipe and tube information connects product families with industrial applications, which helps buyers narrow an inquiry beyond a generic steel-products catalog. Its processing technologies support product selection for industrial applications. The company also reports SuMPO environmental declarations for specified pipe products, a useful distinction from manufacturing quality certifications. Its welded and seamless ranges should be compared separately because the same group name appears on products made by different routes.

SeAH Steel is relevant when a procurement package includes stainless steel and carbon steel pipe. The company’s manufacturing network includes Pohang, Suncheon, Changwon and Gunsan, while its published history distinguishes the older business from the operating-company split in 2018. SeAH describes a 24-inch stainless welded-pipe line at Suncheon, a concrete reason to consider it for larger stainless requirements. Carbon pipe and stainless products still belong to different plant and process portfolios, so the material choice directs the inquiry.
Headquarters: Seoul, South Korea

Tenaris combines HFW line pipe with a global network that also produces seamless pipe. Its location directory identifies welded operations at Wilder, Conroe, Hickman, Confab and Valentín Alsina, giving buyers a more specific starting point than the corporate name alone. The onshore HFW offer spans 2.375 to 24 inches outside diameter according to its product information. Selection should begin with the welded mill and its product family; an oilfield tubular or seamless listing is a different purchasing route.
Headquarters: Luxembourg (registered office)

Hyundai Steel Pipe publishes ERW and LSAW line pipe within a portfolio that also includes OCTG and automotive tube. The company’s overview gives a combined line-pipe range of 2.375–60 inches, which describes the portfolio rather than a single ERW line. Its headquarters are in Ulsan, with a separate Seoul office shown on its location page. Buyers seeking finished pipe should approach this pipe business rather than assume that the wider Hyundai steelmaking and plate operations provide the same offer.
Headquarters: Ulsan, South Korea
Official website: www.hyundai-steelpipe.com/en
Founded: 1975 pipe-business heritage (not the current entity’s incorporation date)
Company type: Pipe and tube manufacturer

Jindal SAW, EUROPIPE, Corinth Pipeworks and EEW provide different large-pipe options. The first three are relevant to energy and pipeline inquiries; EEW also brings a heavy structural-fabrication focus. Large diameter pipes should be compared by welding route and application rather than by the largest dimension in a catalog.
Jindal SAW is a strong comparison candidate for large pipeline projects because its SAW product page separates HSAW and JCOE LSAW dimensions. The stated HSAW range is 18–158 inches, while JCOE LSAW covers 16–60 inches; the same page describes coating and double-jointing up to 24 metres. These are different product envelopes, not interchangeable limits for a single mill. Its ductile-iron and seamless businesses belong in separate comparisons when the order calls specifically for welded carbon steel.
Headquarters: New Delhi, India (corporate office)
Official website: jindalsaw.com
Founded: 1984

EUROPIPE concentrates on longitudinally welded large-diameter pipe. The company was established in 1991 and describes equal ownership by Salzgitter Mannesmann and Dillinger, with manufacturing at Mülheim an der Ruhr. Its published certificate directory names API and welding-quality credentials for EUROPIPE GmbH, which is more useful than an unspecified group-wide quality statement. The offer suits large line-pipe inquiries; a buyer seeking small-bore commodity stock would normally begin with a different product channel.
Headquarters: Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany
Official website: www.europipe.com/en
Founded: 1991
Company type: Large-diameter pipe manufacturer
Main products: Longitudinally welded large-diameter steel pipe

Corinth Pipeworks combines HFW, HSAW and LSAW production for energy infrastructure. Its manufacturing information describes the Thisvi complex and the addition of Hartlepool LSAW operations, while its current project news names DESFA’s Karperi–Komotini pipeline and Rovuma LNG. Those references give the buyer identifiable examples of the markets it serves. This project-oriented mill portfolio fits pipeline tender work more closely than local standard-pipe replenishment, particularly when the order includes a defined production and inspection schedule.
Headquarters: Maroussi, Attiki, Greece
Official website: www.cpw.gr/en
Founded: 1969
Company type: Steel pipe and hollow-section manufacturer
Main products: HFW, HSAW and LSAW pipe; hollow sections

EEW Group specializes in longitudinal submerged-arc-welded pipe and heavy structural fabrication. Its EEW KHPC operation in Gwangyang describes large assemblies reaching 80 metres and 300 tonnes, illustrating the structural end of the portfolio rather than ordinary stock-pipe dimensions. The dimensions come from its company history page. Offshore structures and wind-related fabrication are therefore clear reasons to include EEW in a shortlist. Small-bore commodity orders wouldn’t use that manufacturing strength, and structural fabrication should be specified separately from pressure line pipe.
Headquarters: Erndtebrück, Germany
Official website: eew-group.com
Founded: 1936
Company type: Welded pipe and structural fabrication group
Main products: Longitudinal SAW pipe and large structural pipe
Manufacturing capabilities: Heavy pipe structures at EEW KHPC, Gwangyang
Quality systems and product standards: ISO 9001 group scope and ISO 3834-2 for named EEW facilities

Water transmission buyers compare a finished pipeline system, including lining, coating and joints. Northwest Pipe, AMERICAN and Steel Mains have identifiable water-system offers, while Naylor, East Pipes and Noksel add spiral and other welded options. Their geographic and process differences help narrow water supply inquiries.
Northwest Pipe, presented through the NWPX business identity, focuses on engineered water infrastructure. Its welded steel water-pipe offer includes linings, coatings and joint details, while Permalok provides a separate casing route for trenchless construction. The company identifies manufacturing facilities in several states, so a water-project inquiry can start with system design and delivery geography together. Its main welded portfolio is water infrastructure; an oilfield-tubular order belongs in a different manufacturer comparison.
Headquarters: Vancouver, Washington, USA
Official website: www.nwpipe.com
Founded: 1966
Company type: Engineered water-pipe manufacturer

Naylor Pipe’s named Spiral Buttweld process is its main distinguishing feature. The company describes an initial penetrating weld followed by an outside weld along the spiral seam, and gives a capability up to 8 feet diameter with a 1/2-inch wall. Its offer spans water conveyance, industrial use and piling, with the specification changing by application. Naylor lists ASTM A139 and A252 manufacturing, but those labels belong to different orders; a pipe-pile requirement is separate from a pressure-water requirement.

Steel Mains supplies an Australian water-pipeline system built around coated steel pipe and compatible joints. Its Sintakote offer covers DN100 to DN2500, with spiral mills at Somerton and Kwinana and fusion-bonded polyethylene external protection. The range includes Sintajoint, Sintalock and welded joint options, so the buyer compares the pipeline assembly rather than just bare pipe. Its AS 1579 system focus and Australian manufacturing geography are particularly relevant to local infrastructure procurement. Its Australian manufacturing and AS 1579 system focus may not match a project specified around another regional pipe system.
Headquarters: Somerton, Victoria, Australia
Official website: www.steelmains.com
Founded: 1878 heritage
Company type: Steel water-pipeline systems manufacturer
Main products: Sintakote steel pipe and associated joint systems

East Pipes is an HSAW specialist based in Dammam. The company describes pipe manufacturing, coating and double-jointing within an integrated Saudi production offer, making it relevant to regional water and energy projects. Welspun’s investment relationship means East Pipes and Welspun are related companies, although they’re separate manufacturing entries in this guide. An order that explicitly requires an ERW or LSAW seam would need a different process option rather than a substitution based only on pipe diameter.
Headquarters: Dammam, Saudi Arabia
Official website: www.eastpipes.com
Founded: 2010
Company type: HSAW pipe manufacturing company
Main products: Helical submerged-arc-welded pipe

Noksel combines spiral-welded and high-frequency-induction products with manufacturing in Türkiye and Spain. Its published history records participation in TANAP, while the certificate section separates the Hendek, İskenderun and Spanish operations. That plant-level presentation helps a buyer connect a product route with the proposed supply location. The two welding families serve different requirements, and the factory chosen for a project also determines the relevant certificate scope and delivery route.
Headquarters: Ankara, Türkiye
Official website: www.noksel.com

Zekelman and Youfa provide construction and general supply products. Pipe produced using the same welding process may be used for different functions in a construction package. The products should be identified as separate product families, to ensure the order reaches the correct operating brand or factory.
Zekelman Industries is a practical starting point for North American construction and standard-pipe sourcing. Its operating brands include Atlas Tube for hollow structural sections and Wheatland for standard and fire sprinkler pipe, so the group covers several buying channels. Atlas Tube’s Blytheville mill adds a specific jumbo-HSS capability to that portfolio. Buyers should separate a structural element from a fluid-conveyance pipe order, even when both products are sourced through companies under the same parent.
Headquarters: Chicago, Illinois, USA
Official website: www.zekelman.com
Founded: 2006 group formation; Zekelman name adopted in 2016
Company type: Steel pipe and tube manufacturing group
Main products: ERW HSS and pipe piles; standard and fire sprinkler pipe
Manufacturing capabilities: Atlas jumbo HSS mill at Blytheville, Arkansas
Quality systems and product standards: Not publicly disclosed in the reviewed company sources.
Youfa Group combines straight-seam welded pipe, galvanized products and square or rectangular tube with spiral-welded pipe. Its multiple production bases make it relevant to construction packages and general water or gas conveyance inquiries. According to the group, laboratory accreditation and product certificates are attached to identified operations, rather than one universal certificate covering every product. A construction buyer can use the range to combine different steel products, but the producing factory and specification remain individual order details.
Headquarters: Daqiuzhuang, Tianjin, China
Official website: en.yfgg.com
Founded: 2000
Company type: Steel pipe manufacturing group
Main products: Straight-seam welded, galvanized, square/rectangular and spiral welded pipe
Manufacturing capabilities: Multiple production bases covering construction and conveyance pipe
Quality systems and product standards: Reports CNAS-accredited laboratories and product certificates for identified galvanized-pipe enterprises

Consider the specified manufacturing process and the intended service first, then identify similar plants that can produce the item in question. A good request for quotation should indicate the required material grade, dimensional schedule, coating system and delivery destination. The purchaser evaluating bare pipe versus a coated, fabricated package is evaluating a different work scope even when both offers indicate the same price unit.
The main divisions of welded pipe are electric-resistance, longitudinal submerged-arc and spiral submerged-arc. ERW denotes electric-resistance welding; HFW identifies a high-frequency process used for straight-seam products. A longitudinal submerged-arc seam is described by LSAW and a helical seam is indicated by HSAW and SSAW. The required grade and dimensions specify which production process is applicable to the purchase specification.
ERW and HFW welding methods join the longitudinal seam using electric-resistance heating. Buyers sometimes use the phrase “electric resistance weld” in inquiries; the mill’s product designation should still state the actual process. Our guide to ERW pipe manufacturers compares the manufacturers in that particular category.
For LSAW, steel plate is formed into a cylinder and welded along its length. JCOE and UOE describe the forming methods, and submerged arc welding describes the welding method. If an order requires double submerged arc welding, the buyer is responsible for specifying the intended weld arrangement in the document. The LSAW manufacturer comparison provides a more focused starting point.
Spiral welded pipes are made by forming steel strips into a helical cylinder and welding the seam. In submerged arc processes, manufacturers also call these SSAW or HSAW pipes. This process appears in large water mains, piling and line-pipe portfolios, but the application specification still governs the ordered product. A spiral seam alone doesn’t indicate a pressure rating or a water contact approval.
A spiral weld wraps around the pipe, as opposed to running parallel to its axis. This geometry distinguishes the product from longitudinally rolled and welded steel pipe. Our SSAW supplier guide restricts the comparison to this process family, including suppliers where the main line of business is spiral pipe.
Follow Industry standards. ASTM A53/A53M-24 has both welded and seamless steel pipe and identifies Type E as electric-resistance welded. ASTM A252/A252M-26 covers steel pipe piles for load-bearing use or permanent concrete shells. Therefore, A252 piling and pressure-water pipe should be shown on separate specification lines.
Water supply projects also need the lining and water-contact requirements stated separately. NSF’s explanation of NSF/ANSI 61 concerns contaminants imparted by products and materials in contact with drinking water. It considers health effects rather than mechanical performance. The coating system, joining materials and the pipe’s structural specification each have a different role in the completed water main.
For energy line pipe, use the specified API grade and product level to compare like-for-like offers. The API 5L line-pipe manufacturer guide narrows the supplier search to that product family. If an order also cites an ASME piping code, keep that design requirement separate from the mill’s product specification and quality-system certificate.
Different supply channels may be activated for other industrial applications. Power plants may specify multiple pipe grades for a single project. OEMs may purchase repetitive lengths for equipment fabrication. Black and galvanized pipe may be purchased in conjunction with structural steel tubes for the same project. These requirements should be clearly listed so that a producer may quote the work it performs.
Synbase Steel is a practical shortlist choice for coated export packages; Welspun suits a broad line-pipe process comparison; Northwest Pipe suits engineered water transmission. EUROPIPE and EEW offer different large-pipe strengths, while Zekelman fits construction supply. The best choice comes from matching the ordered process, product scope and delivery market to the producing mill.
Start with the process and application columns of the main table. Next, consider pipe producers’ dimensions and finished-pipe scope. A water-main project may put more weight on lining and joint systems, while a structural order may put more weight on section geometry and fabrication. Each company card justifies the company’s inclusion in the group.
Ten companies to compare for a broad line-pipe shortlist are Welspun Corp, Borusan Pipe, JFE Steel, Nippon Steel, SeAH Steel, Tenaris, Hyundai Steel Pipe, Jindal SAW, EUROPIPE and Corinth Pipeworks. Water infrastructure and construction buyers should also consider the specialists in the full 20-company table.
A global pipe group can cover various industries, but an individual plant has a defined process and size range. For pipe projects based on a local water system, a specialist may fit a local coated-pipe system more closely than a larger international group. Take into account the actual production site and product family, prior to shortening a list to a smaller vendor group.
For U.S. procurement, begin with Zekelman for standard and structural products, Northwest Pipe for engineered water pipe, and AMERICAN for SpiralWeld water or HFW energy pipe. Borusan also identifies US ERW, LSAW and HSAW facilities, while Tenaris lists several US welded mills. Each group offers a different product range, so the manufacturing route helps narrow an American supplier shortlist.
Borusan identifies Baytown, Panama City and Mobile facilities for different welded routes. Tenaris lists US welded operations including Wilder, Conroe and Hickman. These plant-level options are useful alongside the water and construction specialists. American steel procurement requirements should be stated in the order, including the required manufacturing origin and supporting documents.
A manufacturer makes pipe, and a supplier sells it and may be a mill, distributor or stockist. As such, a steel pipe supplier can offer several mill brands without having any of the production lines. A master distributor of carbon steel typically supplies downstream distributors, while a distributor of carbon steel pipe may supply local inventory and cut lengths.
For a replacement order, stock availability may be more useful than a direct mill inquiry. For a production order with a defined grade and inspection plan, direct contact with the manufacturer may help establish the production scope. Both sourcing strategies may have a role to play in the pipe market.
The list published by Trident Steel for the year 2026-27 shows prices from US$850-1,200 per ton for India-origin API 5L Grade B welded pipe. That is one supplier’s advertised range, not a market average or a Synbase quotation. The page in question combines entries for ERW, LSAW and EFSW and prices coating and inspection separately.
Source: www.tridentsteel.co.in/carbon-steel-pipe-price-list.html. The listing doesn’t provide one common wall thickness or delivered price basis for the entire range. A usable quote needs to be for the same dimensions, grade, quantity and delivery terms for each bidder. Stainless steel pipe, specialized coating and fabrication require separate quotes.
Northwest Pipe, AMERICAN SpiralWeld and Steel Mains are clear starting points for engineered water-pipeline systems. Naylor, East Pipes and Noksel add spiral-pipe options for different regions and specifications. Compare the finished pipe, lining and joint arrangement as one system, and keep piling products separate from pressure-water products.
Regional manufacturing can change freight and delivery planning for infrastructure projects. Steel Mains has an Australian system focus; Northwest Pipe and AMERICAN provide US water-pipe options; East Pipes offers integrated HSAW production in Saudi Arabia. The intended project location helps narrow this group quickly.

The starting point for a short list should include the process, the plant producing it and the end product. Then compare the same specification and delivered scope. This keeps a long international supplier list useful for a particular order.
Synbase Steel supplies welded steel pipe for project procurement across ERW, LSAW and SSAW products, with coating and connection components available within the package. Send the required grade, diameter, wall thickness, quantity and destination so the inquiry can be matched to the appropriate product route.
Company profiles and product information were reviewed in October 2026. Official company websites appear as plain text in the comparison table and profiles. The process and certificate discussion uses the ASTM, API and NSF sources linked above. The Steel Tube Institute producer directory also informed the broader manufacturer candidate pool.
